The First 3 Things You Should Do After Booking Your Wedding Venue
Most brides realize that one of the first things you should cross off your wedding planning to-do list is booking your wedding venue. But, then what? After you’ve spent all that time finding and booking your dream venue, what should you do next? Every bride will have a different, unique order for their planning checklist. However, there are 3 things you should do immediately after booking your wedding venue.
Book Your Wedding Planner
The first thing you should do after booking your wedding venue is to book your wedding planner! (Unless you did this before booking your venue, of course.) Hiring your planner early on is essential to having a smooth, stress-free wedding planning process. They will be your go-to person for almost everything from here on out. Plus, they can help guide you through the next steps, recommend the best vendors for you, and handle all the coordination.
Decide What’s Most Important
The next thing you should do after booking your wedding venue is to decide on the top few priorities. What do you want your guests to remember about your wedding? The killer music and all-night-long dancing? Then your top priority would be either an awesome DJ or a live band. Or, maybe you want your guests to remember how beautiful your ceremony and reception were because of the floral arrangements, meaning a florist would be top of the list. Whatever your priorities are, list the top 3-5 and tackle those first. Also, make sure your budget reflects your priorities. If having amazing photos is first on your list, then you should allow a healthy portion of the budget to go towards that one thing.
Book Important Vendors
After you nail down what’s most important on your wedding day, it’s time to take action and book the vendors associated with those! Coordinate with your venue and planner to make sure outside vendors are allowed at your venue and/or if they have a preferred vendor list. Once your planner knows your priorities, they’ll be able to recommend their favorite vendors in your budget range, and may also be able to assist with the booking process. Do not procrastinate on this! The best wedding vendors get booked out quickly and you don’t want to have to settle for your second choice.
After you find your wedding venue, the reality really sets in that you’re actually planning your wedding! And then the fun begins of planning all the elements of your big day. Quickly taking action on the first 3 things you should do after booking your wedding venue will help you stay on track and stress-free. So, get to planning!!
